IIH Worker-Senior WSP 40 hours
Schedule: Hours can vary, day, evenings and occasional weekends
Status: Full Time (2 Positions)
Nature Of Work:
• Intensive In-Home Workers provide on-going activities in the home designed to avoid crisis situations. Interventions are based on limited goals and may include psycho-education, crisis de-escalation strategies, parent-child relationship building and the improvement of parenting skills.
• Provide a variety of services that are designed to assist the youth/family in acquiring, developing and accessing functional skills and supports (both social and environmental) needed to function more successfully in community environments. Is responsible for the delivery of services as listed below.
• Education: Master’s Degree in audiology, child and family studies, communication disorders, community mental health, counseling, education, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, recreation, recreation therapy, rehabilitation, social work, sociology, or speech and language pathology, human services, human development, criminal justice, or other related degrees, or a NYS Teaching Certificate, or a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields.
• Experience: With a Master’s degree, must have two years experience providing direct services for children with one or more of the following primary diagnoses: mental illness, mental retardation, alcoholism, chemical dependency, or substance abuse. With a Bachelor’s degree, must have four years experience providing direct services, or providing linkage to services, for children with one or more of the following primary diagnoses: mental illness, mental retardation, alcoholism, chemical dependency.
