The residents near Winfield Street School in Corning were treated to a parade on the morning of July 11th. More than 100 children and staff from Pathways Kids’ Adventure Club summer program trekked from the school to Stewart Park. Each group of children was responsible to design and assemble costumes and parade items, including “floats” of sorts, representing a different decade from the 1920’s to today to go along with their summer theme. The children worked hard and had a great time parading through the streets, all to the accompaniment of a snare drum street beat played by Site Supervisor, Drew Smaldone. Upon arrival at Stewart Park, the children were treated to freeze pops and lemonade before continuing on with the rest of the day’s activities.
