The Pathways, Inc. Erwin Child & Family Center has again been awarded the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA). This nationally recognized accreditation follows a rigorous process of self-study, surveys of parents and staff, verification by early childhood education/child care professionals, and a final review by the NECPA Board of Commissioners.
During the accreditation process, all areas of the school’s program are scrutinized including administration, staff development and the working environment, the developmental program, outdoor and indoor environments, health and safety, and parent and community relations.
NECPA Accreditation is reserved for exceptional early childhood programs that substantially exceed minimum state licensing requirements. Parents seeking care and education for their young children can use national accreditation as a means of locating the highest quality programs. As an NECPA accredited program, Erwin Child & Family Center has maintained its place among a select group of early childhood education centers nationwide and internationally which have shown an exceptional commitment to professional and programmatic quality. “The Pathways, Inc. Erwin Child & Family Center staff is very proud of this accomplishment. In order to achieve this accreditation, we meet standards and criteria far above those required by regulations through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The children enrolled benefit greatly from our staffs dedication to meeting and exceeding these higher standards,” said Colleen Coro, Center Director.
