There are 25,397 children and youth in foster care in New York State (adoptuskids.org). Become a Resource (foster) Parent and provide a local home to keep children and youth in their community.
The Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program promotes a team approach to foster care to achieve the permanency planning goal of strengthening the family unit and reuniting the youth and family whenever possible, or assisting the youth in the adoption process, and/or connecting youth to permanency resources and alternative planned living arrangements.

Population and Geographic Areas Served
The TFC program serves youth and families in the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier, and Western New York Regions. This program serves children and youth ranging from birth to 21 years of age who have serious emotional difficulties, complex medical issues, and/or developmental disabilities, and is committed to keeping sibling groups intact through foster care placement.
Resource (Foster) Parents
The Pathways, Inc. Therapeutic Foster Care program is committed to effectively recruiting, training, and supporting our Resource (foster) Parents, enabling them to provide intense support and care to youth participating in the program. Family Specialists meet several times a month with Resource Parents to offer support and provide case management services. A 24-hour emergency on-call system provides assistance as needed.

Bridges to Health - serves youth with serious emotional, social, and behavioral issues; developmental disabilities; or medical fragility who are in the foster care system to avoid a higher level of care or hospitalization.
