Peer Specialist Relief
You will have your own caseload, make your own schedule, and work up to 30 hours a week.

Better Pay
Competitive pay and a pay increase when you become a certified peer, including sign-on bonuses, longevity bonuses, utilization bonuses, as well as peer certification bonuses. Pay: $16.00 - $17.50 per hour! (depending on related experience)

Sign-on and Retention Bonuses

  • Receive a $1,500 Sign-on Bonus, disbursed after 3 months of carrying cases
  • Receive a $500 bonus after obtaining your Peer Certification
  • Receive Retention Bonuses based on the following:
    $1,000 after 6 months of employment
    $1,500 after 12 months of employment
    $2,000 after 18 months of employment
    $2,500 after 24 months of employment

Better Support
Knowledgeable and supportive staff available to support you 24/7 through group staff meetings and individual supervision. Ongoing training and program meetings.

Technology and Tools
Staff will have iPads available for documentation and Agency vehicles available to sign out for appointments.

Flexible Schedule
Make your schedule to fit the client's needs and your needs. 

Optional Office Location
Offices located in Chemung and Steuben counties, as well as the ability to complete documentation from non-work locations on Agency iPad.

Am I qualified?

Peer certification is available at no cost to you through two training programs (the Office of Mental Health and the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services).

Candidates must be a current and/or previous recipient of mental health and/or substance abuse services or the loved one or friend of a recipient.

You must be willing to take the required coursework (at no cost to you).

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
