Nature of Work:
The Youth WRAP Around Alternative initiative is part of Steuben County’s efforts to provide a community-based, family focused, comprehensive WRAP around delivery of services to its high-risk eligible youth population and their families. This position involves working with program staff, parents, youth and family members, and with numerous Steuben County Departments on a continuous basis. The WRAP and Probation At-Risk Counselor is responsible for providing family and individual counseling in the home setting, crisis intervention, and collaborative services for approximately ten at risk youths and their families.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Human Services is required, as well as working experience in treating youth with intense emotional / behavioral difficulties and their families.
- Must meet the requirements of the Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding history of abuse / maltreatment of children. Must meet insurability guidelines and pass Motor Vehicle Record clearance.
